Welcome to Adventure Camp.

What is Adventure Camp?

Adventure Camp is K9 and Co’s doggy daycare: basically, a theme park for pooches based in Canberra. Your dog will spend the day running, playing and socialising with other pups in our specially built play-yard; practicing their agility and behaviour through tailored puzzles and games; getting plenty of well-earned rest; and of course, lapping up the cuddles, pats and attention of our doting K9 Happiness Officers.

All you need to do is drop them off, and we’ll take care of the rest.

A day in the life of an Adventure Camper

7.30-9.00am: You drop your furry friend(s) off at doggy daycare at our Belconnen play-yard, and carry on with your day - whether that means spending the day running errands, chasing after little ones or heading off to your 9-5.

9.00-4:00pm: On an average day, your Camper will:

  • Participate in a range of pooch-friendly games, designed to promote positive behavioural reinforcement, socialisation among the pack and of course, deliver a whole stack of fun! Games include puzzles, bubbles, chase, tag, frisbee, nose work, treasure hunts and more!

  • Practice their agility skills using our range of functional equipment, all of which has been tailor-made using secondhand materials! Agility, but make it eco-chic.

  • Enjoy the variety of surfaces, including natural grass, artificial grass (tailored to K9 needs), tanbark, sand, a paddle pool and a raised platform where they can keep their paws clean and dry on wet Canberra days.

Our K9 Happiness Officers post plenty of photos and videos of your K9s throughout the day. Just follow our socials and you can watch along.

4:00pm-5.30pm: Collect a very happy and tired K9 from our play-yard, and hurry to book them in again!

All first time campers will need to book in for a behavioural assessment to ensure they are a good fit for day care. During this time, our team will introduce your pup to the scents of our yard before slowly introducing them to other pack members. By taking this approach, we can ensure your dog doesn’t get too overstimulated whilst we assess your dogs social skills.

Behavioural assessments include the full day of day camp - simply drop your dog off during check in time and our team will handle the rest! You will receive a detailed report card of their assessment at the end of the day.

Benefits.

  • SOCIALISATION.

Adventure Camp doggy daycare is a great way for your dog to meet other K9s and make lifelong friends. This furry friendship provides endless benefits and is one of the best things you can do for your dog’s wellbeing.

Watch your K9 become multi-lingual as they learn the intricacies of how dogs communicate with one another. Learning proper ‘dog manners’ equips your pooch with the behavioural tools to more confidently handle and adapt to new situations.

  • HEALTH & WELL-BEING.

Adventure Camp doggy daycare supports every K9’s health and wellbeing in all manner of ways. Play produces serotonin, keeping them happy, while exercise builds muscle and keeps them fighting fit. Games and puzzles challenge your pooch’s skills, building their confidence and abilities, while the varied stimulation tires them out (and we all know a tired dog is a good dog!).

Adventure Camp doggy daycare provides the mental and physical stimulation all dogs need to live happy, well-adjusted and healthy lives.

  • GET YOUR TIME BACK.

As much as we might love our furry friends, there’s no denying that making sure they get enough stimulation, socialisation and exercise takes up time and effort which are often in short supply.

Whether your pup Camps with us one, two or five days a week, booking them into Adventure Camp doggy daycare lets you reclaim some of your finite time. You’ll appreciate getting to the end of a long and tiring day knowing “pup admin” is one big ticket item you can cross off that ever-growing to-do list.

  • INCREASED OBEDIENCE.

During their time at Adventure Camp doggy daycare, your pooch will be exposed to ad-hoc obedience training aimed at fine-tuning their manners. Our specialised staff will monitor and correct poor behaviour throughout the day, ensuring they come home as polite pups.

Like humans, dogs need to stay on top of their skills in order to engage in continued professional personal development. To do this, our staff will leverage best practice and modern training techniques to promote improved obedience.

Have questions?

What will my dog do at Adventure Camp?

Adventure Camp is all about maximising the amount of fun your K9 has throughout the day. Everyday, our staff will spin the ‘wheel of fun’ to determine what games will be played during the day. This can include chasing bubbles, playing treibbal, being set loose on the agility course, playing good old fashioned tug, or a variety of other games and activities. At lunch, your dog will be put to bed for a midday nap. After the nap your dog will be brought back to the play yard for one last hurray to tire them out before returning home. One thing is for certain - your dog will have an extreme amount of fun.

Will my dog be placed with similar sized dogs?

At K9 and Co we have two sized yards - a medium to large sized yard and a small dog yard. Your dog will be placed in the best yard for their size.

What do I bring for my dogs first day at Adventure Camp?

Nothing! We have everything your dog will need for an insanely good time.

Does my dog need to be desexed?

Nope! We will keep a close eye on all dogs in our yard to make sure no naughty behaviour occurs! However, we do recommend to keep your female dog at home while she’s in heat just to be 100% certain of no unwanted pregnancies!

Will my dog be supervised?

Of course! Our staff will be available and on-site from drop-off to pick-up. They will constantly monitor the yard to ensure all dogs are safe and well-behaved. They use our K9 and Co Games Manual to pick various fun activities to initiate throughout the day (being sure to film them for at home pleasure!), and of course provide many pats and cuddles. Rest assured that your K9 will be safe and having the time of their life!

What time do I pick up and drop off my dog?

We are open Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Drop off - 7:30am - 9:00am
Pick up - 4:00pm - 5:30pm

Does my dog need to be vaccinated?

Yes, your dog will need to have an up to date C5 vaccination that will be required to be uploaded when booking in for the first time.

What happens if I am late to pickup my dog?

At K9 and Co, we value the work-life balance of our staff and as a result, we want them to be able to return home on time at the end of a day.

Because of this, a late fee will apply to all owners collecting their pet after our operating hours.

A late fee of $20 per 15 minutes will apply. By using our services you acknowledge to respect our staffs personal time and agree to paying these charges.

Do I need to book a Behavioural Assessment for my first time?

Yes. All first timers will need to book in a Behavioural Assessment. We take pride in ensuring we have a safe environment for both our dogs and our staff. As a result, all first timers will need to sign up for a Behavioural Assessment. During this session, our K9 Happiness Officers will assess your dog to make sure they are a good fit for Day Camp.

Behavioural assessments are a full day of day care, simply drop your dog off in our check in times and our team will assess the social skills of your pup and make sure they are a good fit for the pack.

Will my dog be trained whilst at Adventure Camp?

Our K9 Happiness Officers are constantly monitoring both good and bad manners to make sure those good behaviours are rewarded instantly, and those bad ones are corrected as quickly as possible. This means you can expect not only an exhausted pooch, but a well-mannered one.

I am new to Adventure Camp, how can I be sure my dog is having a good time?

Follow us @k9andcoadventurecamp to see what our K9 Happiness Officers have in store for your pup! We will be sure to post constantly throughout the day so you will be able to see what fun activity your dog is enjoying, who their new best friend is, and how much fun they’re having.

My dog is a senior K9, will they be alright at Adventure Camp?

Absolutely! Our staff will be sure to make sure the younger generation aren’t exhibiting too much of rough and tumble throughout the day and will be sure to seperate any particularly enthusiastic dogs from your senior citizen.

Meet our happy campers.
